Just a quickie post

Hi there,

Alice has put a few more notches in her belt recently:

1. rolling back to front, about February 15th,
2. solid food, about March 10th,
3. sleeping on her tummy, about March 10th.

So, she's officially a big girl now. Other than that, she is a delight. Very personable and social, and she continues to be very mellow. She loves hanging out on the floor with her toys, rolling around.

The big news for the family is that we are moving the NH, so Alice and Lizzie are gong to be New England girls! East coast!

Smiles: 4-5 weeks

Rolling (FTB): 12 weeks
Rolling (BTF): 4 months
Barrel rolls: 5 months (proficient)

Laugh: (disputed) roughly 15 weeks

Toy to mouth: adept by 15 weeks

Solids: 5.5 months

Unassisted sitting: 6 months

Commando Crawl: 6.5 months

Eating grass (and anything else she can grab): 6.5 months

Push up to sitting from prone: 7 months

Dancing: 7 months

Crawl: 7.5 months

Tooth: 8 months, just cutting through

Babbling (? bub-buh-buh-buh-buh, etc): 8 months

Respond to name, "no": 8 months

Pull to standing/cruising: 8 months

Stairs: 9 months

Clapping: 9.5 months (ish)

Walking: 10.5 months

Signs at 12 months: "all done", "milk", "bye-bye", something like "more"

Walking backward: 12 months

Words: "hi" somewhere between 10.5 and 12 months. Opinions vary over first official use. "book" ("bbuuh" 12.5 months). "all done" seems very close at 13 months.

Words at 15 months: Bunny (Alice's beloved); Daddy; Puzzle; Book (more clearly); Yay! (with the most delightful lilt!); Yeah!; Cat. Very clear babbling and intonation -- it's amazing how clear it is what Alice wants... Few words but amazing communication.

Sample of new words by 19 months: "Boo Voof" (her blue doggie); more; mine; no; "ide" (outside); tray; bib; spoon; fork; cup; cheese, beans, peas (Alice's three favorite foods -- she has many more food names down, but I'll refrain from an exhaustive list); "neh" (neck or necklace -- very popular); "ide" (slide); bath; "bough" (bounce! said with much enthusiasm); blocks; books; bubbles; car; hair; eyes; ears; nose; mouth; teeth; water; hot; beer (Eric's kid); lots of animals (bear, owl, mouse; cat, dog, sheep, giraffe, gorilla, etc. all pronunciation mangled); mamma; daddy; cat; "Blue" (Abby's given name, we have no idea why)... and of course, Alice's FAVORITE word, yelled dozens of times every hour: ZIZZIE!!
